Porcelain Veneers

What are Dental Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells, usually made from porcelain or resin composite materials, that are “shells” of tooth-colored enamel designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their general appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of your teeth and generally look and feel exactly as your normal teeth would. Veneers are typically used for teeth that are discolored, worn down, chipped or broken, misaligned or uneven, and to help with teeth that have gaps — large spaces between them. Our dentist can help you determine if veneers are a good solution for you.

What Does the Process of Getting Veneers Look Like?

Getting a porcelain veneer is a simple process that can usually be achieved in three visits. In the initial consultation, you will share with our team what your dental goals are and your interest in having veneers created. We will examine your teeth to make sure veneers are appropriate, and discuss the pros and cons of the procedure, plus determine if more than one tooth is a candidate for the process. During this time, you will likely have impressions made of your mouth and teeth. In the second visit, our dental team will prepare your tooth and perform any work to ensure that the veneer will fit beautifully when applied. Finally, when it is time to bond the veneer, the dentist will examine the veneer to ensure that matches the shape and color you requested before completing the procedure.

If you’re looking to upgrade the appearance of your teeth, Delaney Park Dental is proud to offer Veneer services to our patients in the Anchorage Area and supporting community. We pride ourselves on our whole-patient focus, making sure that we treat our patients with the same care and attention that we do your teeth.
